Welcome!

Welcome to The Next Frontier, a space for exploring the technologies and ideas that will shape our collective future, for better or worse.

I started this blog because I found myself constantly thinking about questions that fall into the gaps between academic papers and Twitter threads. How do we govern technologies that evolve faster than our institutions can adapt? What happens when artificial intelligence meets nuclear command and control? Why do we keep building systems we don't fully understand? These are urgent challenges that demand both technical rigor and human perspective.

My journey here has been somewhat unconventional. I've gone from dropping out of engineering college in India to presenting research on the use of AI in nuclear verification in Sweden. Along the way, I've developed a deep interest in the intersection of emerging technologies and traditional security challenges. Currently based in London, where I am researching scheming propensity in LLMs, I bring both technical training and a healthy skepticism about techno-solutionism to these discussions.

This blog explores the convergence points that others often miss, where AI safety meets nuclear doctrine, where climate change reshapes security calculations, where information warfare undermines democratic institutions. I'm particularly interested in how different communities approach similar problems in isolation, missing crucial insights that could come from cross-pollination.

What you'll find here:

  • Deep dives into complex topics that connect technical details to policy implications

  • Analysis of emerging risks and the governance frameworks struggling to keep pace

  • Commentary on current events through the lens of long-term thinking

  • Explorations of ideas from philosophy, history, and systems thinking that illuminate modern challenges

I believe the most important conversations happen at the boundaries between disciplines. Whether examining how machine learning affects nuclear stability or how climate change reshapes global power dynamics, my goal is to provide analysis that transcends traditional silos while remaining grounded in evidence.

This isn't about pessimism or optimism; it's about clear-eyed assessment of both risks and opportunities. The challenges we face are serious, but not insurmountable. Understanding them deeply is the first step toward navigating them successfully.

I write for policymakers seeking technical clarity, researchers interested in broader implications of their work, and engaged citizens who recognize that the future isn't something that just happens to us, it's something we actively shape through the choices we make today.

Welcome to the conversation. The next frontier awaits.
